Description

El Manantial is an organic smallholding situated 20 minutes from the attractive town of El Bolson which is 130kms south of the city of San Carlos de Bariloche. The small holding is surrounded by woods and there is a river with pools for bathing.

The area is dotted with organic farms and alternative enterprises and there is a very cosmopolitan feel to it, as many people from different countries and from other parts of Argentina have come to settle here to try their hand at sustainable living.

NW Patagonia enjoys a stunning landscape with the majestic Andes as a back drop to the West. The areas has many lakes and mountain rivers and several mountains and river valleys have excellent refuges for those who like to hike in the wild.

For those who like adrenalin sports there is white water rafting, paragliding, kayaking, mountain biking amongst other activities such a horse trekking and canoeing.

The town of El Bolson has a great crafts and local produce market three times a week where there is an interesting dispaly of local craftmanship and fresh produce to taste.

There are several good restaurants offering regional dishes, steak, trout and icecream being at the top of the list.

To the east out on the Patagonian steppe you can visit the Patagonia Museum in Leleque which gives a good idea of the development of Patagonia from ancient times to the present day. You can also visit El Maiten and take the narrow gauge railway in the Old Patagonian Express.

In fact, there is something for everyone, from the relaxing to the strenous, so why not come and visit this lovely corner of the earth!
