Pousada Do Lado do La is situated in Minas Gerais State in a typical Andes ecosystem, with its distinctive birds, animals and flowers, at an altitude of 1,900 meters.
The Eco Lodge is in an area of great scenic beauty and the views from this forgotten piece of paradise are beyond description, with dozens of crystal-clear waterfalls and natural pools, many canyons, magic peaks, and lost valleys. There are plenty of options for outdoor activities, such as rappelling, climbing, trekking, bird watching, canyoning and photographic safaris.
This area is quite isolated and it is easy to see the endemic wildlife. You may have glimpses of foxes, jaguars, armadillos, Tayras (a type of weasel), hares, and Maned Wolves, as well as many different kinds of birds and hummingbirds.
Pousada Do Lado do La offers comfort and excellent food for you to enjoy during your stay. Cooking is done on a woodburning stove, and water is pure, with no necessity for filtration.
After a busy day of activities in summer, the ideal is to take a shower in one of the many waterfalls to be found in the lodge’s 6 kilometers of rivers, natural pools, and canyons, or experience the refreshing pleasure of a warm bath of mineral water back at the Lodge.
In winter the Lodge, heated by the stove and by the gas heater, is warm and cozy. It is great to sleep peacefully, hearing the waterfalls "singing" you a lullaby, and to wake up above the clouds.
In the Lodge itself there are 3 charming double rooms with a toilet on the first floor and a bathroom on the ground floor. Meals are served in a dining room with a wood stove and there is a living room with a fireplace.
The Parrot Hut offers 2 double rooms on the first floor and a living room with a wood stove, a bathroom with a toilet on the ground floor.
The Andes Hut provides 2 rooms for couples and a mezzanine, a living room with wood stove and a bathroom with a toilet.
The Indian Suite and the Springwater Suite offer king size beds, a mezzanine and a bathroom.
